Sedona A Mecca for Arts & Entertainment Sedona is known for the most breathtaking landscapes in northern Arizona with its stunning red rocks and vistas. But it is also known for its shopping, dinning and an incredible spiritual essence believed to be created by vortexes or positive energy centers strategically positioned in the surrounding hillsides and canyons. Many come to Sedona strictly to experience this energy while others come to enjoy the serenity of the natural scenery and its abundance of specialty shops, restaurants and galleries. Sedona offers world class art galleries, studios and museums. The Sedona Arts Center, the oldest arts organization in central and northern Arizona, provides inventive art exhibits and offers hundreds of classes ranging from novice to expert level. The Tlaquepaque Arts and Crafts Village features over forty shops and galleries displaying the unique artistic style of Arizona culture. Exposures International Gallery of Fine Art, the largest fine art gallery in Arizona, has a delectable collection of southwest pieces. Hillside Sedona is an array of galleries, specialty fashion shops, fine dining, and wine tasting. There are many other art exhibits tucked throughout the beautiful Red Rock region where discovery is around every corner. Sedonas culture continues with dozens of year-round events. In the fall, the Sedona Arts Festival showcases the intricate work of over one hundred quality artists and craftspeople. In the spring, Sedona provides the perfect 5 atmosphere for the Sedona Film Festival, giving a chance to see the cutting edge of the silver screen. Music also offers major events. Enjoy a variety of music from around the world during the Red Rock Music Festival. Listen to legendary and emerging jazz artists at the Sedona Jazz on the Rocks Festival. There are several stunning State Parks close to Sedona. Red Rock State Park is an all-time favorite. It encompasses over two-hundred eighty acres, complete with a well-planned trail system. Choose from self-guided or Rangerled tours plus several hands-on educational exhibits. Slide Rock State Park is located just north of Sedona in Oak Creek Canyon on a forty-three acre apple farm. Whether it is just a day trip or an extension of the Verde Valley Adventure experience, Sedona is an intricate part of the any northern Arizona vacation.
