Communications Manager, Tahoe Region at Vail Resor ts Susan Whitman, explains that a reser vation system will be implemented this 2020-2021 season "to provide assurance to our guests that we will do our ver y best to minimize crowds at all times — be it a holi- day weekend or the unpredictable powder days." With an Epic Pass, guests can enjoy vis- iting Nor thstar along with Heavenly and Kirkwood Resor ts. "While we have designed our winter operat- ing plan to comply with and at times exceed all known applicable laws, our operations will remain subject to the local regulations in each of our resort locations," Whitman says. "Please understand that these may change at any time, either ahead of or during the ski season. We will endeavor to communicate any changes—and how they might impact our operations—as soon as we are made aware of them. We are looking forward to welcoming our guests back to Northstar for a great ski and ride season." While it was un- known at press time if popular activities like ice skating in Northstar's charming village will be operational, there is still plenty to do. The world's only official Burton "Northstar, part of the Tahoe Region of Vail Resorts, is known for its laidback California spirit and family friendly nature," says Whitman. Perhaps one silver lining to this altered way of living is a renewed appreciation for the great outdoors and a determination to find ways to safely enjoy physical activity in beautiful surroundings. 182 C A R M E L M A G A Z I N E • W I N T E R 2 0 2 1
