SCOTTSDALE COMMUNITY COLLEGE 2013-2014 CATALOG & STUDENT HANDBOOK Students maintaining continuous enrollment at any public Arizona community college or university may graduate according to the requirements of the catalog in effect at the time of initial enrollment or according to the requirements of any single catalog in effect during subsequent terms of continuous enrollment. Students may maintain continuous enrollment whether attending a single public community college or university in Arizona or transferring among public institutions in Arizona while pursuing their degrees. Continuous Enrollment 1. A semester in which a student earns course credit will be counted toward continuous enrollment. Noncredit courses, audited courses, failed courses, or courses from which the student withdraws do not count toward the determination of continuous enrollment for catalog purposes. EXAMPLE A: Admitted and earned course credit at a public community college or university Continued at a public community college Transferred to a university EXAMPLE B: Admitted and earned course credit at a public community college or university Enrolled but earned all W, Z or F grades Enrolled in audit courses only Nonattendance Transferred to a university F05 (Active) Sp06, F06 (Active) Sp07 (2005 or any subsequent catalog) F02 (Active) Sp03 (Inactive) F03 (Inactive) Sp04 (Inactive) F04 (2004 or any subsequent catalog) G eneral G r aduat i on Requi r em e n t s Catalog Under Which a Student Graduates (AR 2.2.5) 49 Non-Continuous Enrollment 2. Students who do not meet the minimum enrollment standard stipulated in No. 1 during three consecutive semesters (fall/spring) and the intervening summer term* at any public Arizona community college or university are no longer considered continuously enrolled, and must meet requirements of the public Arizona community college or university catalog in effect at the time they are readmitted or of any single catalog in effect during subsequent terms of continuous enrollment after readmission. EXAMPLE A: Admitted and earned course credit at a public community college or university Nonattendance Readmitted and earned course credit at a public community college Transferred to a university F02 (Active) Sp03, F03, Sp04 (Inactive) F04 (Active) Sp05 (2004 or any subsequent catalog) EXAMPLE B: Admitted and earned course credit at a public community college or university F02 (Active) Nonattendance Sp03 (Inactive) Readmitted and earned course credit at a public community college F03, Sp04 (Inactive) Nonattendance Su03 (Active) Transferred to a university F04 (2002 or any subsequent catalog) *Students are not obligated to enroll and earn course credit during summer terms, but summer enrollment may be used to maintain continuous enrollment status. Summer Readmission 3. Students admitted or readmitted to a public Arizona community college or university during a summer term must follow the requirements of the catalog in effect the following fall semester or of any single catalog in effect during subsequent terms of continuous enrollment. Students transferring among Arizona public higher education institutions must meet the admission requirements, residency requirements, and all curricular and academic requirements of the degree-granting institution. NOTE: Time Limit for Transfer Coursework Students should be aware that the receiving institution may have age and credit limits on certain coursework to be used in transfer. Students should be knowledgeable about the policies on time limits for transfer coursework for the institution to which they plan to transfer.
