3. PACE What distinguishes CGA from the other accounting designations? Simply stated, it's PACE. While PACE officially stands for 'Professional Applications and Competence Evaluations,' in actuality it stands for so much more. 3 The PACE certification courses and exams cover more than 100 competencies in three distinct areas: leadership, professionalism, and professional knowledge. CGA students who complete their Levels One through Four studies are broadly skilled and trained in financial management and business analysis. PACE builds on these skills and confers the applied knowledge and demonstrated expertise demanded by employers and clients. To earn the CGA designation, students must successfully complete two graduate-level career elective courses and two Capstone Courses. PACE sets CGA apart from the other accounting designations and serves as the final assurance that a CGA has the technical knowledge, sector-specific competencies, problem-solving skills, and the ethics and integrity to lead organizations.
