utomobile hood ornaments were referred to as "mascots" in Great Britain and popular in the 1920s '50s. The nostalgia and beauty of these works of art made photographer Glenn Fidler consider mas-
cots almost like living entities, and it became his mission to shoot portraits of them. This particular mascot
is from a 1932 Chrysler that was photographed on the lawn at the 2012 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.
Fidler replaced the background using Photoshop, and many years of grunge, pits, scratches, and corrosion
were painstakingly removed by computer and restored to a nearly new appearance.
