Located in California's San Fernando Valley, 80 percent of Royal Imaging's business is in the Western United
States although they drop ship to accounts in South America, Canada, Mexico, and Central America as well.
From its beginnings as a wholesale distributor of consumable office products Royal Imaging hasn't been
hesitant to change with the times, with its product mix shifting about 13 years ago when OEM copier supplies became available to wholesalers through secondary distribution channels. Today, Royal Imaging carries
some 7,000 products, amounting to $2.6 million in inventory, encompassing copier, fax, laser, inkjet, thermal
ribbon, dot matrix ribbon and duplicating supplies, both OEM and compatibles. All supplies are shipped
from the company's 25,000-square foot office and warehouse facility. An East Coast location is expected to
open in the fourth quarter of 2013.
"We try to give our customers a true one-stop shop," says Gene Fontana, executive vice president.
They're also known for their compatible copier toner. "We run less than 100th of 1% defect rate; it's actually
better than the OEM," reports Fontana.
Royal Imaging prides itself on superior customer service. Customer service staff, many have been with the
company for 10-15 years, are trained to handle any customer service related issue. Callers always speak to a
'live' person and are never directed to voice mail. Orders received by 4 p.m. Pacific time are shipped that same
day. Plus with a 97% fill rate, customers can be assured that their order is complete.
"We try to make sure that we always have product," states Fontana. "We're good at keeping our inventory
levels up and getting our orders out the door. We turn our inventory five times a year."
