Pack eye drops Hydrates, lubricates and soothes irritated eyes Description Code Breed-related and conformational conditions Evaporative dry eye is another important but often under-recognized issue. Pets with prominent eyes, incomplete blinking, or tear film instability — particularly brachycephalic dogs — are at increased risk due to greater corneal exposure. These patients may show minimal signs of pain despite developing surface changes. And conformational issues, such as distichiasis, ectopic cilia, or entropion, can cause ongoing irritation while awaiting definitive treatment. Routine lubrication helps maintain moisture and protect against progressive damage. Age-related conditions Older pets may also benefit from regular lubrication. Tear production commonly decreases with age 3 , and some neurological conditions, such as idiopathic facial nerve paralysis, can impair normal blinking. In these cases, lubrication supports comfort, reduces discharge buildup, and helps maintain overall ocular health. Elevating the standard of care: A clinical approach By providing clear guidance on proactive lubrication, practitioners can improve comfort, reduce secondary problems, and support effective home care. Recommending a dedicated veterinary lubricant such as Oculeze ™ eye drops ensures patients receive a preservative-free, lipid-enriched solution. It also discourages the use of potentially irritating over-the-counter human products while fostering long-term client compliance and patient comfort.
