A t nearly every veterinary conference I attend lately, one topic seems to dominate the conversation: the future of veterinary medicine. But the more time I spend with fellow practitioners, and the more closely I follow the data and trendlines of our industry, the clearer it becomes — the future isn't some distant concept, it's already taking shape in practices every day. Admittedly, it may not resemble the sleek, sci-fi version of the future many of us imagined. What I've learned as both a practice owner and Chief Veterinary Officer at Covetrus is that the most meaningful innovations are rarely the loudest or flashiest. Instead, they're the ones that quietly and efficiently help practices like yours and mine evolve, operate smarter, and succeed. That's the kind of innovation that drives Covetrus solutions — tools designed to deliver measurable clinical and financial results. And the momentum across our network is a powerful reflection of that mission. In the last quarter of 2025 alone, Covetrus generated $20 million in direct value for VetSuite members in a single quarter. And 2026 is already off to a strong start. In just the first two months of the year, online pharmacy sales for VetSuite members grew 30% year over year. Covetrus Pulse practices are also gaining back real time — an average of six hours per week — thanks to AI tools that handle documentation, pre-visit prep, and post-visit follow-up automatically. (To see how it works in action, don't miss our Ambient Listening feature on page 27.) Throughout this issue, you'll find examples of practices putting these tools to work and achieving meaningful outcomes. This is what a community built for veterinarians truly looks like — not just an idea, but a network delivering tangible results. I'm proud to be a member of that network, and equally proud to be part of the Covetrus North America leadership team working every day to help real practices achieve real results. Not in some distant future, but right now. Link Welborn Chief Veterinary Officer, Covetrus
