FEBRUARY 2014 RETAILOBSERVER.COM 43 DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION WEEK New Cooking Innovation at BOSCH INTRODUCES ENTIRELY NEW KITCHEN LINE, THERMADOR PREVIEWS NEXT GENERATION COOKING SURFACES D uring Design & Construction Week 2014, Booth #C3837 is the hot place to be: leading appliance brands Bosch home appliances and Thermador are offering an exclusive preview of the new innovation and design that will make a statement in today's kitchens. Bosch, the definitive European kitchen brand for the Mass Premium market, is introducing a completely redesigned cooking line, which will set a new benchmark in kitchen design. Thermador, a leader in luxury kitchens designed for the culinary enthusiast, has reimagined the possibilities in surface cooking and indoor grilling - unveiling the next generation of cooktops, ranges and rangetops featuring industry leading design and unrivaled performance to create the ultimate cooking experience. BOSCH SETS A NEW BENCHMARK IN THE KITCHEN Bosch has announced the largest product launch in the company history, taking place in April 2014, with the introduction of a new line of cooking, ventilation and refrigeration products. Known for innovation and leadership in the home appliance category, Bosch is recognized as the definitive European kitchen brand offering modern design combined with precision engineering. American homeowners are increasingly looking for more options when designing a kitchen, and as the next step in the evolution of kitchen design, Bosch is incorporating the European trend of perfectly symmetrical horizontal installation. The new Benchmark™ line features horizontal installation, providing the option to install ovens side-by-side or matched with other products from the new line—including steam convection and a warming drawer—for one seamless, yet highly functional kitchen. For those who prefer a more traditional configuration, the new ovens are also available for vertical stacking. With design and ease of use in mind, the new line features side-opening wall ovens. Not only is this a stylistic choice, but it also offers better ergonomic access to the oven cavity and is ADA compliant. The ability to open the oven door the same way other appliances are opened, such as refrigerators and microwaves, feels natural and simplifies overall use. The new Bosch wall ovens use a universal cutout design making it easy to replace and upgrade existing appliances. The perfectly flush line works in harmony with any existing design theme, from modern to transitional and beyond, allowing the products to seamlessly blend into the kitchen. Finally, the new cooking line includes new FlexInduction™ cooktops that remove the constraints of a typical cooktop burner. FlexInduction meets the demand for more flexibility when cooking while still delivering the direct heat of induction cooktops. FlexInduction cooktops can combine two cooking zones into one larger zone to accommodate longer roasting pans, and a variety of pot and pan sizes can sit on the cooktop without impeding one another.
