The union of artistic and entrepreneurial visions is vital to addressing community needs. Operating at the intersection of art and commerce, cultural entrepreneurs add value to society through sustainable cultural enterprises. In partnership with faculty from Harvard Business School and a group of cultural and business leaders, the Silk Road Project has launched a new initiative to promote cultural entrepreneurship: the development of sustainable enterprises that redefine the cultural sector and expand the impact of the arts beyond their traditional boundaries. The first component of this initiative was a Harvard University Cultural Entrepreneurship Challenge. We look forward to announcing the next phase of this groundbreaking initiative in the coming year. Cultural Entrepreneurship Challenge Cultural Entrepreneurship Challenge "It's a dream to have this interface between the arts and business, to try and create sustainable organizations that bring more art to the world." —NITIN NOHRIA, DEAN OF HARVARD BUSINESS SCHOOL UNITING ARTS AND BUSINESS
