ven though the
title to this article
contains the "C"
word, do yourself
a favor and continue
reading anyway. Right
here in the heartland,
Independence, Missouri
to be exact, there lives
and works one of the
most productive and
awarded automotive
artists of our time. And,
he can immortalize your
Porsche on canvas too.
Dana Forrester has
shared his watercolor
paintings of sport cars,
yes mostly Corvettes,
for over a quarter of a
century with the world
wide public. Dana
has displayed and sold
his works of rolling
art at Barrett Jackson
auctions, at the Plaza
Art fair, the KC Auto
Show, and many other
events. Although
Dana long ago joined
what some Porsche
fanatics may call
the "dark side," his
artistic talents cannot
be over looked.
Dana grew up
in the Mid-Missouri
town of Kirksville,
going on to graduate
from what is now
Truman State
University with
a Bachelor of
Science degree in Art Education.
A photo assignment in college led
him to photograph a brick wall
with several bygone era painted
advertising signs covering the
surface. After converting his
photographs to a rendition done
in watercolor, people started to
notice Dana's talents. Sometime
