May / June 2014 24 later, when urged to include a Corvette in such a painting, well, the dye was cast. By the late 80's Dana was able to put the brakes on his teaching career and focus on being a full time artist, thanks to his talent, Corvettes, brick walls and early 20th century painted advertising. Dana's works were gradually noticed by collectors of automotive art, and by the art world itself. Both the American and National Watercolor Societies included Dana into their ranks, one of the highest compliments a watercolor artist can receive. Away from his brushes and easels, Dana continues his passion for Corvettes by collecting both small and large versions. A huge array of model 'Vettes' are not only terrific to browse, but Dana also uses these to assist in deciphering the way light plays on a car's surface. His real world collection includes a classic '65 coupe, a '94 Callaway supernatural convertible, and a '03 milestone edition Z06. Ok you say, he's a great fan of Corvettes, but how do my Porsche and I fit in. Dana will, and gladly, capture the essence of your Porsche, or any other jewel you may have in your automotive collection. Owners of Pintos and Gremlins, however, need not apply. If you decide to engage Dana in a rendering of your prized Porsche, 6 to 8 months is the average time for completion. Dana's beautiful website, danaforresterart.com, provides much more information on his career, awards and samples of his art. Also be sure to check out his foray into wine bottles and Key West street scenes also. So put away your resentment toward those yellow Corvettes that have tormented Porsche at Le Mans and Sebring and enjoy Dana's artistic talents, especially if he captures your Porsche for posterity. - Jim If you decide to engage Dana in a rendering of your prized Porsche, 6 to 8 months is the average time for completion.
