May / June 2014 8 1. Where are you from and what brought you to KC? I'm originally from Asheville, North Carolina but came to Missouri via Ohio and South Carolina. We moved here when my late husband, Mike accepted a position as Senior Instructor with the National Weather Service. 2. How long have you been married, kids or pets? I was married for just over 27 years. I have one son, Ethan, who's also involved with KCRPCA (along with his fiancee, Amber). 3. What is your background or profession? I received my Bachelors Degree in Gerontology, and actually used it for 14 years as a Long-term Care/Rehab Administrator. I'm currently a Program Director for the Kearney School District...I now take care of families' youngest members instead of their oldest. 4. When did you join PCA? Mike and I joined in 2006. 5. What kind of Porsche do you have? Guards Red 911 996 6. What is your favorite thing about your car? The looks I get from everyone else on the road. Oh yeah...and going far faster than I should. 7. What have you done to personalize it? It had a Remus exhaust when we purchased it; Mike added an Evolution Motorsports intake, lowering springs, a "guards red" painted center console and bigger sway bars, w/ help from Doc Wilen. 8. Favorite memory with car - or funny story? Mike and I were walking in to a Quik Trip when a guy came up to us and said he liked our "Camaro"... I'm sure the look on my face alerted him that he had just made the most idiotic statement. Ever. Fortunately, Mike was able to gather his wits about him quickly enough to politely explain that it was a Porsche (yes, I know the "Carrera" on the back may LOOK a bit like "Camaro", but COME ON...). 9. Cars growing up that you had fun with? Believe it or not, the cars of my youth were merely transportation (GASP). I did enjoyed my best friend's old GTO and Mike's car that he owned when I met him, a 1980 Mazda RX7. My first car was a 1978 Mazda GLC, which absolutely could not get out of it's own way going up hill. I've evolved a bit since then. 10. What was your nickname in high school? None. 11. What would you like your next Porsche to be? If we're talking hypothetically, a 918 Spyder. :) 12. If you won the lottery what would be the top 3 cars you would own? Not in any particular order... Aston Martin DB9, Bugatti Veyron SS, and believe or not, just for fun (and I can see Ethan cringing now) an Ariel Atom. :) MEET A CLUb MEMbER By Ann Stover-Wyatt A Dozen Questions for a New Board Member: ANN STOVER-WYATT
