Chmel travels the world but is based in Santa
Cruz. When she competes as a wakesurfer, she
is towed into a course by a rope attached to a
boat. The judging starts when the rider drops
the tow rope. She rides the large waves created
by specially designed boats and is allowed four
falls before the judging stops.
