43 daron schoenrock head coach seventh season tennessee tech, 1984BIO Hired as the 16th head coach in Memphis history on June 29, 2004, Daron Schoenrock has elevated Memphis to previously unseen heights since his arrival on campus. In that time, he has led the Tigers to their first NCAA Tournament appearance in over a decade (2007) and to the program’s highest-ever finish in Conference USA (third in 2010). Schoenrock’s arrival also coincided with the expansion of FedExPark, which was part of his original dream for Tiger baseball. “Coach Rock” is also a tremendous developer of pitchers, having coached future MLB All-Stars Brandon Webb and Jonathan Papelbon during their college careers. 2011 Memphis Baseball Experience • Page 55
