(USJ HS), comes to the Tigers after competing for Coach Fred Corral at the University of Tennessee. While at UT, Gant made one appearance as a freshman. He worked one inning vs. Radford (3/3/09) allowing one run on one hit while walking two and finishing the season with a 9.00 ERA. Prior to joining the Vols, Gant was a five-year letterman for head coach Brad Dyer at University School of Jackson (USJ) in Jackson, Tenn.
