doug clarkassistant coachdistance/mid distanceCOMPLETE BIO Since taking over as the cross country and distance coach in 2009, Doug Clark has transformed a program that had been an also-ran, within the conference and the U of M track and field hierarchy, and turned it into a viable contender. Clark’s first recruiting class may in time serve as a measure to judge a shift in the programs dynamics; a strong women’s class (featuring Jenny Johnston and Ellen Kildal) joined by a completely re-tooled men’s squad makes for a young, talented group that will be able to gel together for the next few seasons. Clark is a master of quick turnarounds and knows what it takes to compete on a national level, having coached a national champion at UTEP and All- Americans at UTEP, Kansas, Arkansas and Tulsa. - 27 -
