2011 season preview throwsEli Mahaley Knut SyverSen Britta JaaratS Anna-Maria BiSChOf Long the staple of the Tiger program, coach Kevin Robinson has developed one of the most elite groups of throwers in the nation. Even after the departure of four- time All-American thrower Steffen Nerdal, Robinson’s charges look primed for a strong 2011. Senior Knut Syversen, a two-time NCAA Regional qualifier, looks to break through and make it to his first NCAA Championship in his final season in the blue-and-gray. Talented underclassmen such as freshmen Elijah Mahaley and Savvas Arestis, with sophomores Andrew Miller and Tom Willcox, will have many opportunities to compete on the national level. A young but talented batch of women’s throwers, headlined by redshirt freshman Britta Jaarats and true frosh Anna Bischof, will test the waters in 2011 as a viable duo in the throws.
