July / August 2014 36 a stop to that pretty quick. It did make for a good laugh. I have to give a hug "thanks" to both David Stadtmueller and Robert Wayman. I learned my past experience in track driving doesn't always play well into the idea of auto-crossing. I know and admit that now. David was outlining the concept of time and distance as to how it applies to this type event. He explained it calmly and in a way that it made perfect sense. Bottom line, it allowed both Kyle and I to lower our times quite a bit! Tip - listen to the masters. As for the cones? I probably owe a beer to the three gent's that helped in the field. Since King Richard Bennett wasn't in attendance, I think I took the most cones out at one time – yep, probably four by plowing through the final corner (that happened before I visited with David) and Kyle probably took the trophy for taking a cone the furthest from its original spot (oh, I figure he drug it 200 feet since I felt the responsibility to retrieve it). Still, an overall great driving experience conducted in a safe environment. I know that in order to keep these events, we have to be good stewards of the site while there and Autocross times for June 8, 2014 1. Jason Whitney 1:29.5 2. David Stadtmieller 1:30.9 3.
