For the third season in a row Memphis will take to the tube for a fall contest. On Nov. 5, the long-time conference rivalry between UAB and Memphis will be showcased on Fox Soccer Channel’s “NSCAA Men’s Soccer Game of the Week”.
The appearance will serve as the second time in two years that Memphis has appeared in the Fox Soccer Channel Friday night staple. The Tigers opened the season with the “Game of the Week” in 2009 against Bradley and used a late Parker Duncan goal to force overtime and an eventual 1-1 draw against the Braves.
Memphis is 2-3-1 in games aired on television. In addition to the Bradley game, the Tigers also appeared in two games on CBS College Sports, losing to Conference USA foes Tulsa and SMU. Memphis’ two wins on television are an overtime victory in 2008 over No. 15 SMU and a comeback victory to capture the 2004 Conference USA Tournament Championship over UAB.
