2010 preview: midfielders < One of the biggest reasons for the Lady Tigers’ unprecedented success the past three championship seasons has been the play and depth of its midfield.Senior Vendula Strnadova, a three-time first team All-C-USA selection, returns for her final season in the Blue and Gray. As one of the most talented players on the squad, Strnadova remains on track to break several Memphis offensive career records. After suffering a season-ending knee injury six games into the 2009 season, senior Laura Laufenberg will bring her leadership and talent back to the midfield for the Lady Tigers. Junior Lizzy Hildebrandt, who could also see time as defender, offers versatility and a proven scoring threat to the midfield. Julia Ignacio, a 21-game starter in 2009, also provides scoring and good ball handling ability to the midfield cast. A trio of freshmen will add depth to the midfield for the Lady Tigers.
