2010 preview: defenders < Coupled with three-straight C-USA Championships, the Lady Tiger defense allowed opponents an average of less than one goal per game for the third-straight season. Although C-USA Defensive Player of the Year Kelsey Bakker will be unable to suit up for Memphis in 2010 due to an injury, Memphis returns three starters on a defense that limits opponent’s opportunities to score. Seniors Brittany Hance and Krista Turner will anchor the Lady Tiger defense. The duo has switched positions since their freshmen seasons, but is each a key factor in the success of the program in the last three seasons. Tara Telford also returns to the fray after putting up a strong showing during her sophomore campaign. Fellow juniors Kelsey Robson and Tarah Kerr also return to the backfield. Sophomores Bailey Pembroke and Christie Kline will build off their freshmen seasons and will vie for time in 2010.
