Designed to be used in-store and easy to set up, the YouSleep system uses customizable software and wireless technology to create mattress test environments. "Everyone's looking for a good nights' sleep, however, most of us don't know how to choose the right mattress," said Mike Allen, VP of home furnishings for BrandSource. "The top needs to be soft enough to remove peak pressure points that cause tossing and turning, and the foundation is important for spinal alignment and conformity to the body's shape. The YouSleep program uses highly sophisticated pressure imaging so members can help each individual customer find the right mattress solution." The YouSleep system is durable and designed for busy store environments. To start, the customer simply lies down on a mattress equipped with the pressure imaging system. A graphic menu analyzes several mattress options, from ultra plush to firm, with 1,600 pressure point sensors. The shopper can view their pressure profile on-screen and gain a better understanding of what "comfort" actually looks like. They can try a variety of different sleep surfaces and compare how each one looks and feels. Whether they run the test as a back, side or front sleeper, the YouSleep system allows for comparison of up to six mattresses at a time and offers a quantifiable ranking of comfort. Using this information, the member is able to fit the customer properly and help them select the best mattress for their body. The YouSleep system is also designed to help lower the mattress return rate, which often presents a challenge to members. "You would never leave a shoe store with a shoe that doesn't fit, and buying a mattress shouldn't be any different," Allen said. "There are a number of issues that impact a good nights' sleep, and buying a mattress is one of the most critical. YouSleep makes it easy for members to help their customers get a good nights' sleep — and the positive shopping experience also builds loyalty." YouSleep was unveiled during the recent BrandSource Convention in Las Vegas, which was kicked off with a keynote by football great Joe Theismann. In addition to three packed days of activities including educational presentations and workshops, free health screenings were conducted by Health Designs, an award-winning provider of workplace wellness programs. The Health Designs team conducted cholesterol, glucose, blood pressure screening tests and BMI measurements and provided each participating member with a set of realistic goals and educational materials based on their test results.
