RETAILOBSERVER.COM SEPTEMBER 2014 10 CELEBRATING 30 YEARS L arge scale artwork depicting the Golden Gate Bridge and cable cars, iconic to San Francisco, flank the side walls, while various appliance configurations showcase the endless design possibilities available to create the ideal Miele kitchen. The Miele Centers are a core component to the Miele experience," explained Nick Ord, president of Miele USA. "Located in major metropolitans around the world including Paris, London, Tokyo and ten here in the United States, there is simply no better way to 'test drive' our products and understand the innovation and engineering that Miele is renowned for, than through our Centers. Each showroom is vibrant, engaging and provides consumers with the opportunity to experience the brand first hand, through hands- on cooking demonstrations, culinary classes and educational opportunities." In celebration of the opening of Miele's San Francisco Center, more than 200 industry professionals and media attended a private grand opening event alongside special guests, Dr. Markus Miele and Dr. Reinhard Zinkann, managing directors and co-proprietors of Miele Global. Guests were treated to a "first look" of the new Generation 6000 series of appliances from Miele. The launch of Generation 6000 marked the "biggest product and innovation offensive in the history of Miele," according to Dr. Markus Miele, "Never before has our industry been given such an injection of new innovations by one single company. And never before has a manufacturer demonstrated such loving attention to detail." The introduction of Generation 6000 will offer Miele dealers more flexibility than ever to achieve satisfaction for their customers. The new line of convection ovens, speed ovens, steam ovens, combination steam ovens, microwaves and coffee systems presents the ultimate opportunity for customization. Offering two, very distinct design lines, ContourLine and PureLine, Generation 6000 allows for seamless integration into the full spectrum of design possibilities. ContourLine can be considered the more traditional line of the two, with a stainless steel frame and substantial handle, while PureLine offers a sleeker look with a higher proportion of glass and a silhouette handle which engages the eye as it appears to be floating. PureLine also includes two additional color options, Brilliant White and Truffle Brown. The Grand Opening event continued with a traditional ribbon cutting ceremony and panel discussion with Dr. Miele and Dr. Zinkann, commemorating Miele's 30th year anniversary in the United States. Nick Ord addressed the crowd to show his appreciation for the major role the dealers and retail partners have played in Miele's success over the past 30 years. "With the help of our Authorized Miele Dealers, we have surpassed many other subsidiaries to become the number 2 subsidiary in the world," said Ord. "Our dealers uphold the exemplary standards expected of Miele and are a major component of the accomplishments that brought us to this point today." The San Francisco Center is one of only four Miele Center's in the country that currently participates in the Authorized Miele Direct Seller (AMDS) system. Through this system, local dealers have the ability to count on Miele for the execution of delivery and can use the San Francisco Center and staff as a direct extension of their showroom to offer both a delightful and comprehensive customer experience. Miele Centers can be found in many of the United States' major metropolitan areas including New York, Beverly Hills, Seattle, Dallas, Scottsdale, Boston, Princeton, Boca Raton and most recently in the iconic Merchandise Mart in Chicago. Authorized Miele dealers can also be found via the Dealer Locator search on mieleusa.com.
