Alma Mater • Carroll College, 1981 • Bachelor’s degree in social science Collegiate Playing Experience • 1977-80: Carroll College (Off ensive Line) Family • Wife - Mindy BIO John McDonell is in his fi rst season with the Memphis Tigers, serving as the off ensive line coach. McDonell joins the Tiger staff aſt er serving one season in the same capacity at Bowling Green State University. In 2009, BGSU’s off ensive line protected quarterback Tyler Sheehan, who threw for over 4,000 yards and tossed 27 touchdown passes. Bowling Green fi nished the 2009 season with a 7-6 record aſt er dropping a hard-fought 43-42 decision to Idaho in the Humanitarian Bowl. Th e Falcons ranked sixth nationally and led the MAC in passing off ense with an average of 316 yards per game. In addition to his season with the Falcons, McDonell’s resume includes coaching stints at Purdue, Notre Dame, Washington State and Stanford.
