September / October 2014 10 1. Where are you from and what brought you to KC? I've been in the Kansas City area all my life. It's a good place to call home. 2. How long have you been married, kids or pets? The lovely wife and I are knocking on 15 years. We currently have 2 girls (8 and 9), a dog named Heston, a Hamster named Pumpkin and a turtle named Shelly. Get it a turtle named shell-y?!? 3. What is your background or profession? I have a strong background in advertising and graphic design. Currently I am part of a communications company. We focus on using the latest technology to better communicate company benefits. 4. When did you join PCA? In my heart, when I was about 9 years old. Paying dues, I'm guessing 5 years ago. 5. What kind of Porsche do you have? I started off with a '99 Boxster. Loved it. A 944 Turbo came next. That is a fun car. If you have never owned a turbo, you need to. I still have the 944T. The latest addition is my '00 996. It is a one year only ocean metallic blue. My lovely wife usually calls dibs on it. 6. What is your favorite thing about your car? For the 944 Turbo, it is the woosh. It you drop it into 3rd on the highway and punch it, you'd better be holding on. The 996 is just a thoroughly modern car. I like the way it gets looks (it's either me or the aero kit that gets the looks) and the way it hugs its way through a corner. 7. What have you done to personalize it? The 944 has a chip and 3" Fabspeed exhaust. The 996 is stock for now. Wait, will my wife read this? 8. Favorite memory with car - or funny story? Karl put the chip and new exhaust in the 944 T. "Any advice" I asked. "Ya keep it straight if you get on it in 2nd". I have skid marks in my neighborhood to prove he was right. 9. Cars growing up that you had fun with? My father loved cars. We had a few Lotus, Porsches, Alfas, BMWs, too long of a list. 10. What was your nickname in high school? T-Bird. You'll have to buy me a beer to learn why. 11. What would you like your next Porsche to be? A 3.0 or 3.2 911 with an RS look to it. 12. If you won the lottery what would be the top 3 cars you would own? That's tough.
