RETAILOBSERVER.COM OCTOBER 2014 30 LAS VEGAS MARKET SYNCHS WITH NEW DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION WEEK TM Winter market synergies offer added value for participants Las Vegas Market announced that its Winter 2015 edition— scheduled for Sunday, January 18, to Wednesday, January 22—is timed to coincide with the second annual Design & Construction Week™ (DCW), bringing together five of the leading design and construction industry trade shows in Las Vegas, in what is expected to be the largest-ever residential construction & housing exposition in the nation in 2015. Design & Construction Week brings Las Vegas Market—the most comprehensive furniture, home décor and gift show in the western United States—together with the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) International Builders Show (IBS); the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS); the International Window Coverings Expo (IWCE); and The International Surface Event (TISE), made up of SURFACES, StonExpo/Marmomacc Americas and TileExpo. The first-ever convergence of these five events will offer new cross-market opportunities to Las Vegas Market buyers and suppliers. Design & Construction Week is particularly well suited to the needs of the interior design trade – an attendance category which has increased by 76% at Las Vegas Market since 2012. The synergistic marketplace fulfills interior designer needs from beginning to end, with products connected to the building process (from building materials, flooring, plumbing and lighting fixtures) to finishings such as window coverings, home furnishings and home décor. The synchronization of these industry-leading trade shows will give builders, retailers, and interior designers the ability to shop the widest range of resources available, as well as convenient access to services such as shared registration badges and shuttle service among venues. Registered attendees will have access to all five trade shows held during Design & Construction Week. Specific dates and locations for each event are: • Las Vegas Market: Jan. 18-22, World Market Center Las Vegas • NAHB International Builders' Show: Jan. 20-22, Las Vegas Convention Center • Kitchen & Bath Industry Show: Jan. 20-22, Las Vegas Convention Center • International Window Coverings Expo: Jan. 20-22, Las Vegas Convention Center • The International Surface Event: Exhibits: Jan. 21-23; Education: Jan. 20-23, Mandalay Bay Convention Center The Winter 2015 Las Vegas Market runs January 18-22, 2015, at World Market Center Las Vegas. CNA-CATA has gained over 67 years of industrial activity, by founding brothers Francis and Joan Casals. "We are glad to inform that we have completed the acquisition of all Spain based industrial and brand assets of Fagor Group," said Galo Sanchez, Director of International Division. "Once all the process is complete early September, we expect to implement all outlined plans in the next couple of months. I would like to assure you of our full commitment to act promptly and put the industrial operation back to work as well as to review each market's specific needs in order to incorporate those in our 2015-2018 strategic business development plan". The buying of Fagor allows "the constant development of new products, as well as the pursuit of innovation and sustainability in employment". With the planned sales volumes of all the production Fagor and CNA establish, the new owner also notes it is "perfectly feasible to operate the plant efficiently at an optimal level of capacity". Along with these business endeavors, the new industrial plan will be comprised of three phases. Following this will be the production of all selected models, which will allow a continuous supply in the market, both domestically and internationally. The last phase will be composed of the engineering development by Fagor of new products and designs for further and continuous production and distribution. "This is great news for Fagor America! CNA-CATA group is a solid leader in the Spain and European Appliances market and now with Fagor, we will consolidate a global presence in all continents and more than 116 countries," said Patricio Barriga, President of Fagor America.
