The restaurant-bar space will close after
Thanksgiving week for a makeover of both décor
and menu, according to new GM Crystal Petersson.
Expect a slightly muted Moroccan theme,
with more light and a stunning silver wallpaper
treatment on the ceiling. Despite co-owner
Day's affinity for pets, the animal print carpet will
go, and the restaurant's back room will trans-
form into Terry's Vault, an homage to Terry
Melcher, Day's late son who helped shape the
sound of West Coast music through his work
with the Beach Boys.
Launched as a small-plates restaurant, Terry's
will offer signature dishes and a more-focused
menu that will mix well with the inn's classic
cocktail emphasis. And for dog lovers, Terry's will
enhance its hugely popular Yappy Hour.
Terry's Lounge is in the Cypress Inn, Lincoln
Street, Carmel, 831/624-3871.
LAST BITES
The daily Sunset Suppers (priced just
under $10) at The Beach House at Lovers
Point continue to rage. "We've done 4,000 cov-
ers a month for 15 months," says Managing
General Par tner Kevin Phillips. "I've never seen
anything like it."
Carmel Belle's expanded dinner menu has
turned heads, with full dinners from 5-9pm
(Wed.-Sun.). Recent items include quinoa mac
'n' cheese, an open-face steak sandwich and
Yukon gold gnocchi with smoked salmon. On
Fridays, look for a farmers market inspired
entrée to boot.
