RETAILOBSERVER.COM DECEMBER 2014 22 A ccording to the American Institute of Architects, an increasing number of homeowners are looking to remodel their kitchens to add more value and function to the space. Despite these upgrades, kitchens have not greatly increased in overall size. 1 As consumers look to improve their kitchens, while utilizing the existing space, they are considering built-in appliances. Of course, that's a viable solution only if the appliances fit their current kitchen wall cut-outs. Manufacturers like GE are making it easier with built-in products that already fit into common cut- out spaces in consumers' kitchens. CUT OUT THE HASSLE "By purchasing an appliance that already fits the cut-out of current kitchen cabinets, homeowners don't have to totally reconfigure the kitchen layout, which will save them money on the cost of a remodel," said Paul Bristow, product manager for Built-in Cooking at GE Appliances. "With products like GE's built-in Advantium®/wall oven combo, consumers can get all the latest features GE has to offer and a product that doesn't cause installation stress." GE's new Advantium /wall oven footprint and connections are fitting for kitchens that already have the built-in microwave/wall oven set and could prove a space-saver for other consumers looking to remodel the kitchen without adding floor space. While consumers hope to avoid the hassle of reconfiguring an existing cut-out space, they also seek products that deliver exceptional cooking performance, such as GE's Advantium speedcooking technology. By upgrading the microwave portion of the combo to the Advantium, consumers will have a pleth- ora of cooking options. From speedcook to true European convection, to microwave and warming /proofing, Advantium offers a multitasking solution for consumers who want a versatile product that helps maximize kitchen space. ADD COMBINATION CONFIGURATIONS To build off of its 2014 wall oven launch, GE is also offering the combination unit in other variations, including: • 27" and 30" microwave/thermal-oven combo in GE's brand • Convection microwave/convection-oven combo in 30" Profile™ "The unique design looks like a double wall oven, but in fact we've given consumers multiple options for the upper portion of the appliance —Advantium or microwave," Bristow said. Built-ins such as those from GE can help consumers who are looking for a hassle-free way to remodel, while still incorporating excellent performance and a space-saving design. 1 American Institute of Architects, http://www.aia.org/practicing/AIAB097963 M A N U F A C T U R E R [ N O T E S ] RO THE RIGHT FIT FOR A REMODEL
