Lizzy Simonin was named the 2010 C-USA Defensive Player of the Year after helping Memphis to a program-best 0.84 goals-against average. She moved from forward to defender last year, but still contributed with eight points (three goals, two assists). Simonin finished her sophomore campaign with four goals and four assists, playing through a nagging ankle injury most of the season. She grabbed C-USA Freshman of the Year honors in 2008 and led the squad in points (22), goals (9), shots (65) and SOG (31).
