RETAILOBSERVER.COM JANUARY 2015 26 ILEX ARCHITECTURAL LIGHTING MAKES BDNY SHOW DÉBUT WITH A HOST OF HAUTE NEW HOSPITALITY OFFERINGS ILEX Architectural Lighting showed its hospitality chops at its first BDNY show this past fall, displaying additions to the Portfolio Collection, including new fixtures by megawatt designers Michael Graves, Mick Ricereto, Laura Kirar, Christopher Poehlmann and Michael Wolk. A number of ADA compliant and high design sconces, including several from the City Series line were also on display in the booth. President of ILEX Architectural Lighting, Alan Indursky, remarks, "We were excited to exhibit for the first time at BDNY with a curated selection of new lights, as well as high- performing best sellers, all of which are tailor made to meet the needs of the hospitality industry. With design by top professionals who are out specifying for their own projects, and a variety of application and lamping options available, our fixtures are ideal for a large range of hospitality projects." In detail, new products on display include: SPACE ARRAY AND LA CAGÉ BY MICK RICERETO Space Array is an avant-garde pendant composed of aluminum "leaves," which can be easily snapped on and off and moved up or down, offering a truly customizable solution that can be adjusted when a new look is desired. A highly adaptable fixture, Space Array is available in several sizes and in Matte White, Teal, Black and custom colors. These pendants use an Incandescent light source or LED. Ricereto was inspired by salvaged industrial products when creating La Cagé, a unique wire-frame pendant with an open, cage-like exoskeleton enveloping a smaller, round glowing lamp. The resulting form—9" tall and 14" in diameter—coveys both lightness and strength, simultaneously. Available in Matte Black, Matte White, Matte Teal and Polished Nickel finishes, they come with an Incandescent light source or LED. CHROMA AND WOODS BY CHRISTOPHER POEHLMANN For Chroma, Poehlmann's main objective was to develop a simple pendant, through which the use of a single variable - in this case, color - could offer a product family with many options. The pendant beautifully houses both new and old lighting technology depending upon the preference of the user and alleviates the notion of planned obsolescence with its adaptable design program. Finish options include Polished Aluminum, Matte Black, Matte White, Shiny Red and Shiny White. Lamping options are LED, Fluorescent and Incandescent.
