The tables were arranged in the shape of a cross, so everyone was close together." Guest and friend of the bride Janet McAthie agrees, "The wedding was quintessential Carmel—romantic, inti- mate and lovely in every way," she says. "Cynthia and Kyle looked blissful- ly happy. It was thrilling to be a part of their very special day." "The whole day was memorable and exciting," the groom says. "It was fun. We don't get the whole family together all the time and it was nice to have most of us there." As for the honeymoon? "I was playing in Japan for ten days before com- ing to Carmel for the wedding," he says, "then flew back to Europe to return to the road. After that we went to Corsica, one of our favorite places." And now, it's back to life on the road for this highly regarded bassist. Will his new wife travel with him? "I've already done so much traveling with Kyle," Cynthia says. "Now I only go if it's somewhere I love or if it's somewhere I've never been before." And no doubt, Carmel is on her list of places she loves. Kyle's mother Maggie snaps a photo of the newly- wedded couple. She and her daughter-in-law credit Sue Carota and Barbara Wigham of the Mission Ranch with helping them create the event. Flowers were by Melody King of Carmel's Fleurish Floral Designs, and the cake was made by Layers of Monterey.
