GALE DIGITAL COLLECTIONS BRING THE PAST TO THE FOREFRONT OF THE DIGITAL HUMANITIES This past year we were pleased to announce the new accessibility of the data behind our primary source archives for data mining and textual analysis, bringing over 165 million pages of primary source content to digital humanities scholars. The possibilities for new avenues of research and learning paths are as endless as they are complex, and we're doing our part to keep the library at the center of this growing area of research. This year we've also steadily integrated our collections into the Gale Artemis: Primary Sources cross-search experience—with over 110 million pages of archives from more than 50 individual collections—while bringing new features and tools to iconic resources such as Eighteenth Century Collections Online. As our product line grows each year, the tools which make them discoverable, accessible, and which enable both researchers and students to meet their educational goals will improve and expand, putting Gale Digital Collections firmly at the center of both learning and research, and at the core of the digital humanities. We have also launched a new slate of products and programs which bring millions of pages of never-before-digitized content to light, working with partners such as the Smithsonian Institution, the Associated Press, and The Catholic University of America (Oliveira Lima Library). Each of these products will make a wealth of new knowledge accessible to students and researchers alike, while supporting the backbone of curricula in history and the social sciences. We at Gale are committed to remaining a partner to libraries, faculty, and students as the digital humanities field continues to evolve. We are looking forward to seeing the impact that both our new collections and new technologies will have on the educational world as we support and encourage the ideas, projects, and outcomes that will ensue.
