March / April 2015 6 February! At this moment I am thinking about the biggest little month on the calendar, February. I don't know about you but I really don't like February. It seems to last forever as the winter grinds on and on. The groundhog comes out and it seems to see his shadow every year, declaring that there is six more weeks of winter. Don't remind us! February stands between us and the beginning of spring and springtime fun. One thing that has been great to see this winter has been how many of you have come out for Saturday breakfast in all kinds of weather. We have had many a Saturday morning with gray skies, cold north wind and temperatures more appropriate for Winnipeg and yet we will have 35 members come out for breakfast and most driving their Porsches. These breakfasts' gatherings have built many friendships and given us all some good laughs after finishing a hard work week. These gatherings are something special and if you have never attended before I strongly recommend that you come out to join the fun. As far as the calendar goes the good news is that by the time you are reading these words, that it should be much nicer and that spring will be upon us bringing warmer weather and fun to be had. We will be thinking of things like The Kansas City Auto Show in March that whets everyone's automotive appetite for the car viewing and of course that event is typically followed shortly by the Mecum Auction and that is a sure sight of spring being near. In January we held a watch party for the Rolex 24 hour race and for February we had a dozen of our Porsches loaned to the Kansas City Auto Museum and I understand it has been very well received by the visitors. To keep the fun going in preparation of spring and beyond this, your Club Board members have been busy working to keep our promise to get us all in our cars more. We are close to our first of the season autocross event and I invite all of you who have never come out before to come on out and join the fun. You will soon hear of some fun drives that are being planned and a very special day at the museum upcoming. So get your cars into the shop and have them ready for the upcoming fun. - Tim PRESIDENT'S COLUMN By Tim Bubniak Can We Drive Yet? FEBRUARY IS LONG!
