United In recent years, Memphis Tiger soccer has grown into a proving ground for potential professional players. Several former Tigers have gone on to lucrative professional careers in recent years, both in American leagues and on the international stage. The most relevant example is former Tigers Dayton O'Brien and Andy Metcalf (2002-05), each of whom were draſted by Major League Soccer squads in 2006: O'Brien by the Columbus Crew, with the 33rd pick, in the second round of the Su- per Draſt and Metcalf by the D.C. United with the 19th pick of the supplemental draſt. Daniel Dobson also played for the Kansas City Wizards of the MLS aſter being selected as a Discover Pick. Several other Tigers have joined profes- sional clubs in America, including current assistant coach Nick Glaser, Thomas Hy- land, and former Tiger great Sean Fraser (who played at the club level in Canada).
