The 2004 men's soccer team that brought the program its first Conference USA title was an especially talented, likable team. Four Tigers from that team (Dayton O'Brien, Andy Metcalf, Michael Coburn and Daniel Dobson) would go on to professional careers aſter their time at the U of M was over.
The team reanked as high as No. 10 in the nation before losing at Ohio State in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. Memphis earned the C-USA Championship aſter coming back from a 2-0 halſtime deficit against UAB to win 3-2.
