Conference Honors 44 All-Conference USA Selections Richie Grant Sebastian Vecchio Player of the Year 2011 (C-USA): Mark Sherrod Offensive Player of the Year 2004 (C-USA): Dayton O'Brien 2011 (C-USA): Mark Sherrod Defensive Player of the Year 2004 (C-USA): Sebastian Vecchio Coach of the Year 1991(GMC): Chris Bartels 2000 (C-USA): Richie Grant 2004 (C-USA): Richie Grant Newcomer of the Year 1993 (GMC): Bernard Licari 2006 (C-USA): Kevin Walsh 40 All-Conference USA Selections The Tigers have claimed four C-USA Player of the Year honors. Ad- ditionally, Memphis has garnered two conference Newcomer of the Year selections and three Coach of the Year awards. Richie Grant was named the C-USA Coach of the Year in 2000 and 2004, while Chris Bartels with the Great Midwest Conference Coach of the Year in 1991. Along with Grant's honor in 2004, Dayton O'Brien was named the C-USA Offensive Player of the Year and Sebastian Vecchio was the Defensive Player of the Year. In 2011, Mark Sher- rod was named both the C-USA Player of the Year and Offensive Player of the Year.
