Jordan Johnson, a junior defender, was a key cog in the Memphis backline with Thomas Shannon, J.J. Greer and Chandler Gagnon. The Tigers posted six shutouts on the season, and Johnson's defensive presence was vital in each clean sheet. He recorded his first career point on an assist in the opening match against Lipscomb, a 4-1 win. In all, Johnson notched four assists on the season, including a spectacular helper against UCF in the open- ing round of the Conference USA Tournament.
Johnson, majoring in interdisciplinary studies, has played in 50 games as a Tiger, while starting 47 of those contests. He came to Memphis aſter a sensational prep career at Hendersonville High School for Russ Plummer, where he helped lead his high school team to three-straight Tennessee state tournament appearances and one state runner-up finish in his freshman season. Actually, his high school team captured district, regional and sectional championships in 2006, 2007 and 2008.
