Aſter using her first year at Memphis as a redshirt year, Aleksandra Petronijevic, or "Aki" as her teammates call her, immediately transitioned to the starting libero for the Tigers. Petronijevic made an impact as soon as she stepped on the floor, totaling 29 digs in the Memphis Invitational match against Georgia State and earning all-tournament honors for her performance. The 29 dig-performance ranks ninth all-time for number of digs in a single match. Petrnojievic was one of only two Tigers to participate in every set of the 2011 season and finished the year averaging 3.55 digs per set.
