May / June 2015 8 1. Where are you from and what brought you to KC? I grew up in Clinton, Missouri, about an hour southeast of the metro, on Truman Lake. After graduating from Mizzou in 1986 and then a 6 year stint in the Navy flying carrier jets, I moved back "home" to Kansas City to attend UMKC School of Law. I've been here ever since. 2. How long have you been married, kids or pets? I've been married 21 years. I have two sons, a freshman at Mizzou and a freshman at Blue Valley Northwest High School, and a daughter who is in first grade. We don't have any pets. We told our sons that they couldn't have a dog because they got a little sister. 3. What is your background or profession? I'm a consumer bankruptcy attorney. I retired from the Navy as a Captain after 6 years active duty and 17 years in the Reserve. Other than flying, the coolest thing I did in the Navy was serving as one of the lead planners for the international security force for the 2004 Athens Olympics & Paralympics. We had a carrier battle group and about 5,000 Marines sitting right off the coast of Greece the whole time and basically no one knew about it. My hobby is the Kansas City Automotive Museum. I founded the museum and serve as the President of the Board of Directors, so at the Porsche breakfasts I'm "that museum guy." 4. When did you join PCA? June 2013, after I bought my 996. 5. What kind of Porsche do you have? I just sold my black 1999 996 Aero coupe in March. God, I loved that car. Currently, I have a guards red 1987 928S4 and a guards red 1987 944 Turbo (951). 6. What is your favorite thing about your car? With the exception of the 928, my favorite thing about all the Porsches I've had is that they are the closest thing to flying that you can find in an automobile. They are "tossable" – light, quick, nimble. The 928 is a different animal. I like to refer to it as being like Elvis: he was the coolest man to ever walk the face of the planet. The 928 is the Elvis Presley of automobiles. It's cool, but not MEET A CLUb MEMbER By Jeff Wagoner A Dozen Or-So Questions for a Club Member: JEFF WAGONER
