May / June 2015 19 leaves your car with a deep shine. When drying off your car have a spray bottle with distilled water in it to help remove any hard water left on your car. After totally drying off your car I like to use the leaf blower to get any excess water out of the areas your towels couldn't reach. This will push the water out where you can wipe it off with a damp microfiber towel. 4. Both bird droppings and bugs have acid in them and will eat into your clear coat in no time. To remove bugs from your car, spray the area with your finishing spray while using a clean microfiber towel gently wipe the bug spot until it is dissolved. Respray as necessary to keep the area wet while removing bugs. If you have a large number of bugs, you will be better off washing them off with plenty of soap and thoroughly rinsing the area. Bird dropping needs to be cleaned off as soon as you see them. Some bird poop can eat into your finish in minutes. I always have a finishing spray and clean towels in my trunk just for that purpose. Before ending this session of the cleaning corner there are a couple ideas I would like to go over: First before removing the dust off your with finishing spray I like to go over the car with my California Duster to remove as much of the dust I can before starting with the spray. Hint: When using the California Duster always shake the dust out of it before using it on your car. The idea behind the California duster is to lightly touch the finish of the car, do not push the duster down onto the car's finish. You should shake the duster every once in awhile to remover any dust build- up and shake it good before putting it away in its special holder. - SPENCER Photos by Spencer Cochran
