We started our NYIAS
tour by visiting the Ford
exhibit and viewing the
new Ford GT. Absolutely
stunning car. Then, on to
the VW exhibit, which was
basically a New York style
discotheque, complete with
mirror balls, laser lights and
a high-tech DJ booming out
rhythmic dance music. Toto,
I don't think we're in Kansas
anymore. The NYIAS is
huge and it obviously takes
money to be here. Porsche
spent over $1 million on
lighting alone for its exhibit.
Reportedly, Cadillac spent
over $12 million to build its
exhibit, in which it debuted
the CT6. Alfa Romeo,
however, touched my heart
with its display – showcasing
not only its new cars but also
two beautiful vintage Alfas.
Yep, the museum guy in me
was right at home there.
