JULY 2015 RETAILOBSERVER.COM 3 NO DUCTWORK? NO PROBLEM When installing ventilation, ducting is not always an option. Updraft ventilation systems often offer a recirculating installation option that passes air through a charcoal filter to remove cooking vapors from the air. However, downdraft ranges historically required ducting to the outside. The new Jenn-Air ® downdraft ranges help eliminate this concern with the duct-free filter kit. Installing in the front of the range, behind the toe-kick and below the oven, the duct-free filter kit uses a HAPA filter to remove steam, smoke and grease vapors from the air and ensure that the kitchen air remains fresh and clean. EXCEPTIONAL PERFORMANCE. ELEGANT DESIGN With radiant electric and dual-fuel options, these downdraft ranges not only provide the ventilation performance your customers expect from Jenn-Air brand, they also provide exceptional cooking power. The 17,000-BTU brass, dual-stacked PowerBurner featured on the dual-fuel downdraft range offers power for high-heat cooking techniques like searing and wok-cooking and also provides control for delicate simmering and melting. The electric downdraft range features both a rapid boil element and a dual zone element that accommodates a wide range of cookware sizes. A true convection oven ensures even heat distribution throughout the oven cavity, and the oven offers an ample 6.2 cubic feet of capacity for baking, broiling and roasting. These downdraft ranges also offer distinctive design features that further enhance their appeal. DuraFinish ™ Protection helps keep the dual-fuel downdraft range's cooking surface looking like new by resisting scratching, staining and yellowing, easily wiping clean after each use. The soft, auto-close oven door allows the door to close softly, quietly and securely, and a telescoping glide rack inside the oven easily rolls out, even when loaded down with heavy cookware. B orn of a rainstorm and one man's ingenuity, downdraft cooking has been at the heart of Jenn-Air ® cooking products from the very beginning. Starting with the self-ventilating range, downdraft cooking products offer dramatic design possibilities, open sight lines and broad installation options. From the original downdraft ranges developed by Louis Jenn to the exceptionally powerful and innovative JX3 ™ downdraft cooktops, Jenn-Air brand continues to advance the technology it developed and defined. Introducing the next innovation from the original downdraft inventor: the new line of Jenn-Air ® downdraft ranges. A DOWNDRAFT SOLUTION TO FIT ANY SPACE A natural progression from the full-depth design of the new Jenn-Air ® updraft ranges, these downdraft ranges offer the open sight lines your customers desire, fit any standard, 30-inch range opening and replace either an existing slide-in or traditional freestanding range. Installing in just a few steps, the new Jenn-Air ® downdraft ranges have no overlapping top, preserving the clean lines of the countertop, and are designed for easy retrofitting from existing slide-in downdraft ranges while providing a refined, built-in look. Also, these ranges offer a marked performance improvement and style upgrade for customers looking to replace their current slide-in downdraft range.
