While The Storm Clouds Gather
PORSCHES RUMBLE TO THE
There are some days that
are just meant for Porsche
driving. And, this day was
not looking like one of those
days. Our annual Elms Run
day was under threat of rain.
The crowd gathered,
some 25 strong, under a
somewhat threatening sky
at the Ameristar Casino just
north of downtown Kansas
City. The breeze was cool
and steady. We were all
secretly wishing it would
blow the clouds and threat
of rain south of us. Lucky
for us it did.
The chatty crowd was
only hushed when I gave
out our route and driving
instructions. After all it is
important to know where
you are going should you
get split up.
Splitting up as it turned
out was not a problem. This
group knew the route to
Excelsior Springs. Plenty of
long winding roads where
the Pumpkin seemed to be
happiest rising and falling
with the terrain in 3rd gear.
The twisties are fun,
but everyone likes
