Arriving early gave opportunity to hear the distinct sound of each approaching engine
Many could be heard from quite a distance with descriptions like
"Robust" and "very refined" - "I love that deep silky flat six burble"
"That turbo whooshing sound"
"It's an unleashed vibration felt down in your feet lasting until your destination"
"It's a roar/purr of a tiger in need of some taming"
"Those Boxsters sound like a bunch of riled up men all trying to be heard at the same time"
"GT3's come on like a storm rolling in from a far distance"
One gentleman summed up with "regular Porsches make sounds like pouring milk into a glass –
Smooth + refreshing"
While standing beside the water's edge and gazing all around
You see the museum grounds are quite stately
It is good to take a slow walk there, as it is a place of discovery and reflection
Enjoy its beauty without a care
As this wonderful event came to a close, the photographer had us all gather
We quickly found a spot on the north steps and put on our biggest smiles
With camera in hand he yelled to the crowd
"All right now, let's hear it nice and loud"
"WE LOVE PORSCHEs!!"
