The University of Tulsa (TU) invites applications and nominations for the positions listed below. Associate Dean and Director of Graduate Business Programs Reporting to the dean, the associate dean will play a key role in realizing the academic mission of the college. The associate dean should have strong academic credentials and relevant administrative experience. The associate dean provides strong leadership for business degree programs and is deeply involved in building a climate of excellence in the college. It will be particularly important for the associate dean to foster strong partnerships with the business community and to provide outstanding leadership for Graduate Business Programs. The associate dean is directly responsible for all TU graduate business programs: MBA, MS in Finance, and Master of Taxation. This includes developing and implementing strategies, procedures, and metrics for the recruitment, admission, advising, and enrollment of full-time and part-time graduate business students. Additional responsibilities include recruiting students, managing graduate business scholarship funds, and supervising the graduate and undergraduate business programs staff. Specific responsibilities include overseeing the maintenance of AACSB accreditation and outcomes assessment activities for all business programs; addressing student issues for the Office of the Dean; working with the dean, assistant dean and department chairs in managing course offerings; serving as the primary point of contact for the college with the Office of Admissions, Registrar, Graduate School, Career Services, Alumni Relations, and other administrative offices; and other duties as assigned by the dean. Preferred Qualifications: A doctorate from an AACSB International accredited school in business, economics, or a closely related field; a teaching and publication record that supports appointment as a tenured associate or full professor; and three years of relevant administrative experience as a department chair, associate dean, MBA program director or equivalent. The successful candidate will have demonstrated leadership skills; ability to create and manage corporate and university partnerships; strong written and verbal communication skills; professional staff supervision experience; budget management experience; strong customer service orientation; ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds; and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Director of Master of Energy Business Program and Faculty Position in Energy Economics and/or Energy Policy The director of the planned new online Master of Energy Business (MEB) program will be eligible for a faculty appointment with academic rank consistent with his/her academic and professional qualifications. The director will teach energy economics and/or energy policy courses in the MEB program (when it is implemented) and in the undergraduate energy management major. Reporting to the associate dean, the successful candidate will provide leadership for developing the new MEB program. It is anticipated that the first students will be accepted into the MEB program fall 2011. The director will have responsibility for all aspects of the MEB program and will work in conjunction with the director of Energy Management in the marketing of the program, student recruitment, class scheduling, relationships with industry, coordinating with program faculty, and program assessment. The target population for the MEB is employed energy professionals, preferably in the upstream and midstream sectors of the energy industry (i.e., engineers, geologists, accountants, IT professionals, etc.) who have 3-10 years of experience in the energy industry and wish to pursue a graduate business management program with an emphasis in energy. The MEB degree will serve as a springboard for energy industry technical and professional employees with the goal of moving into business-oriented careers in areas such as management, business development, and acquisitions and divestitures. The Collins College of Business offers an undergraduate major in Energy Management (EM) and a minor in Energy. TU is the only AACSB International accredited private university offering an EM program. Preferred Qualifications: A doctorate from an AACSB International accredited school in business, economics, or a closely related field; demonstrated expertise in energy economics and/or energy policy; a teaching, publication and/or professional record that supports appointment as an associate or full professor; and the desire to develop and champion a world-class graduate energy business program. The successful candidate will have strong leadership and communication skills; ability to create and manage corporate and university partnerships; a customer service orientation; ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds; and ability to manage a successful online graduate program.
