September / October 2015 4 As I write these words, it is nearly September and the cool air is already showing up. I hope that is not a harbinger of things to come from the weather. I count on wonderful weather in the fall with sunny warm days and cool evenings. Of course, the people with turbos really like the fall weather coming in. We have historically had wonderful weather for our fall events, such as the All German car show where we join the BMW and Mercedes Clubs for a joint car show. Somehow that show has been blessed with perfect weather and great turnouts every year. Before I lose track of the summer events, I have to point out that this club seems to really like Ice cream. Our recent Ice Cream Social in Parkville had a great turn out and a lot of new faces. However, I think there was extra enthusiasm for this event, as I got to the event within 10 minutes of the start time and the shelter house was already full and the ice cream was already being enjoyed. Of course, with the quick start to the event most people left early to enjoy the cruise night or to get back to their normal routines. There are a lot of upcoming things on our calendar between now and the end of the year; so keep watch on the email updates and look for opportunities to engage with your club members. I personally enjoy the driving events and I am looking forward to some fun drives coming up soon. Also, I am really looking forward to our Club Holiday Party to be held on December 11th at Union Station. I believe that is going to be a special event. I hope you all will be able to join the fun. Final thought; find reasons to drive your cars as that is why they are built!
