PRODUCT NEWS PRODUCT NEWS 34 September - October 2015 | www.machinerylubrication.com KINEMATIC VISCOMETER The new automated CAV 4.2 dual-bath kinematic viscometer from Cannon Instrument Co. is designed to enhance productivity, reduce costs and improve data quality for laboratories requiring ASTM D445 precision. The CAV 4.2 has dual independent baths that allow simultaneous testing at two different temperatures. Two independent sample handlers ensure reliable, unattended process- ing of up to 24 tests per hour within the viscosity range of 0.5 to 10,000 millimeters squared per second. The self-contained, bench- top instrument boasts a smaller footprint than similar dual-bath viscometers to conserve lab space. The lubricant displaces and repels moisture and is ideal for drying wet or submerged machinery and equip- ment such as engines, spark plugs, wires, power tools and electric motors. The high-performance formula also reduces friction and noise, and helps prevent rust and corrosion. It is available in an 8-ounce aerosol can or a 1-gallon pour can.
