There, the institute and its staff will work closely with the college's Small Business and Technology Develop- ment Center and the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Daniel Ostergaard, who has been affili- ated with the institute since 2006, was named director of the center last fall. Ostergaard is former executive director of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Advisory Council and president and founder of Pelorus Enterpris- es, an international business and governmental relations consulting firm. n To meet the demands of the growing number of family-owned businesses in the region, the Quinnipiac University School of Business in Hamden, Connecticut, is launching the Fam- ily Business Center. The center will serve as a resource for members of family-run and entrepreneurial businesses, offering forums on top- ics such as communication, conflict resolution, legal issues, wealth management and transfer, insur- ance, estate planning, and informa- tion technology.
