Founding Dean School of Business In September 2007, the Concordia College Board of Regents enthusiastically adopted a proposal to create the Concordia College School of Business. The current Department of Business, Accounting and Economics is the largest program at the college, serving about 460 declared majors and approximately 850 students each semester. The potential for the founding dean to lead the transformation of this department into a prominent School of Business is extraordinary. The dean will inherit a program imbued with a strong liberal arts and in- ternational focus, providing students with a distinctive business education that instills a commitment to sustained professional excellence and service to the community, guided by ethical principles, and a global perspective. Concordia College, founded in 1891, is a selective, private, coeducational, and liberal arts college of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America with a total enrollment of 2,800. Moorhead-Fargo is the largest metropolitan area between Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN and Spokane, WA and is one of the fastest-growing areas in the country. It is home to three colleges/universities with more than 20,000 students, and has been named as one of the top ten cities in which to start a business or get a job. The ideal candidate will be an innovative leader with an earned doctorate in a business discipline and experience as a senior adminis- trator/executive in an educational or corporate environment who is committed to the development of an exemplary School of Business. It is important that this leader have refined skills in working effectively with external constituencies. The successful candidate will be capable of transforming a good department of business into an exceptional school of business. This leader must be able to articulate with passion the benefits of earning a business degree from a private liberal arts college with a focus on ethics, values, and authenticity. Expressions of interest and nominations should be forwarded to jma@jonmcrae.com. Confidential phone inquiries are welcomed and more detailed information is available at www.jonmcrae.com. Review of prospective candidates will begin immediately and continue until the successful candidate is chosen.
